This is a real 19th Century chateau set in nice grounds a short walk from town. We loved the Moorish-style decoration in the public rooms and we got to eat dinner in a beautiful dining room. Before the meal we were given a glass of the local Barsac, and we had very nice red wine with the meal. All the food was good and plentiful, with the chicken in Sauterne main course particularly good. Paul and Brigitte were kindness itself, and very interesting and entertaining. Even though we had an early start on the day we left, they put on a real spread for breakfast. We had a comfortable, romantic be
